Race day was very hot, with a couple of bumps in the road. Nonetheless both JennyD and Puppy successfully finished their race! They are very proud to have raced on behalf of the S.P.A. and have hoped that their efforts have made a difference.

Post-race has also been extremely busy, JennyD with her work in animation, and Puppy with finishing her thesis and starting veterinary school.

We will be meeting with the S.P.A. to hand over the amazing donations, and hope to collaborate again with projects in the future - so stay tuned!

ACCLIMATISING AND RESTING BEFORE THE BIG RACE…

We arrived safe and sound in the wee hours of Monday and have slowly been adjusting to the slight time change and heat. It isn’t any hotter than hometown Montreal, but it is the dryness that can be quite a shock to the system. The Jennys are hydrating as much as possible, so as to be well prepared for  the 30-plus conditions predicted for race day.

Today is a non-training day, so they’ll rest up and hang out with their roommates; 5 four-week-old Rottie/Shepperd mixes their hosts are fostering.

So far, it’s been great. The Armstrong household is warm and accommodating and the Jennys are feeling right at home. Friday, Ann Armstrong and the Jennys will participate in the annual, pre IM “Underwear Run”. So they’ll be breaking out the skivvies and running alongside locals and athletes, all in the name of a good cause and fun! Stay tuned for further posts!
